honda ruckus
i’m kind of obsessed with the honda ruckus. it’s got fat tires and it’s got two big round headlights. if a metropolitan and a jeep could have a kid, this is what it’d look like.
a new one costs about $2500. based on the used ruckus prices (it’s surprisingly hard to find one in good condition for less than $1800), it looks like the ruckus holds its value extremely well.
folks seem to like to modify the ruckus. below, i’m listing only stock (or mostly stock) ruckuses (rucki?).
3/2/13: $2100, nashua (nh), 2012 with 2000 miles, black. it does look like it’s in nice shape, but over $2000 for a used 50cc? c’mon.
2/25/13: $1600, southern new hampshire, 2006 with ??? miles. white with black seat.
5/2/12: $2000, boston, 2005 with 2000 miles, black. wow, definitely a high price. it seems like ruckuses have the biggest price swing between off- and on-season prices. reposted on 6/2/12. reposted on 8/28/12 for $1700.

3/22/12: $2300, somerville, 2011 with 270 miles, black. this looks like a fine ruckus, but i’d be surprised if he can sell it anywhere near this price.

2/18/12: $2000, cambridge, 2009 with ??? miles, red/black. Ridden for one summer only, apparently.
2/4/12: $2400, somerville, 2011 with 248 miles, black. Very pricey, but sounds like it’s in mint shape. price lowered to $2350 on 2/21/12.

10/16/11: $900, londonderry (nh), 2008 with 4950 miles, black. scuffed up, but it runs well and there are some minor upgrades.
